    Hi everyone! I’d like to talk about how everyone experiences stress. I tend to shut down when I’m experiencing stress and I find it really difficult to get anything done.


    The purpose of our stress response is to protect the body physically. That’s why when something is coming at us we duck and cover. Mentally, when we get overwhelmed, our stress response does the same thing but instead of us running physically away it shuts us down and we can’t take anymore.

    It’s important to realize this is your body’s way of communicating to you and honor it. Doing nothing isn’t doesn’t help though. You’ve got to address what is causing the overwhelm. Try our 5-Whys activity to help you uncover the root cause of your stress. “Know” is the first step in getting SMaRT.

    Unfortunately, I get physically sick when I’m stressed. Everything from headaches to stomach issues to acne. It’s annoying as hell so I do everything I can to keep my stress at a minimum.
