Personal energy is divided into three main sections: mental, physical, emotional. The cycle looks like this:

How much total energy you have in each of these areas is finite, short- and long-term unless you replenish regularly. What most people don’t recognize or sometimes realize is how you view your world- your attitude- drives the energy to be more or less negative or positive in nature. So if our attitude is filled with more negative thoughts, we fill up each of our energy vessels with negative energy, which makes us feel more negative, so we then act negatively.

The first step in changing the way in which you replenish your energy is to acknowledge what kind of energy you lead with each day. There is a spectrum of energy levels that range from 1-7, each with its own core thoughts, feelings, and actions. Bruce D. Schneider explains each level as people may speak:

Level 1– “I’m just at everyone’s mercy. There’s just no time for me.”

Level 2– “How can they ask me to do this now? Damn inconsiderates! They’re going to hear about this one.”

Level 3– “I guess I asked people to help me when it’s not convenient. I won’t get upset with them. They’d help me if they could.”

Level 4– “Of course I can help you. I love helping. I was going to do something for myself today, but I can help you instead.”

Level 5– “Sure I can help you. It’ll give me an opportunity to get out of the house. While I’m at it, I’ll stop on the way and pick up some healthy things for myself.”

Level 6– “No matter where I am or go, I know it’s exactly where I am meant to be. I choose always to relax and enjoy life.”

Level 7- “Life is so amazing! I am centered and creating whatever outcome I desire.”
